25th Anniversary Dinner
Where:Markland Wood Country Club
Fortunately the proximity to a Golf club didn't affect the quality of the humour! Golf jokes were officially banned (Sorry Fred). IntroMichelle kicked off the evening with good humour and Pierre led us in our Royal and Loyal Toast. |
|
Our Menu Was:
- Grilled breast of Capon stuffed with Swiss cheese and prosciutto
- Herbed whipped potatoes
- Seasonal vegetables
- Fresh baked bread
- Warm poached pears and a goat cheese crouton on a bed of baby spinach with Sherry-Dijon vinaigrette
- Coffee, tea or milk
- White and dark chocolate Torte with a chocolate swirl, crème Anglaise and fresh seasonal fruit
I was worried the Pears and goat cheese would end up in a flavour mêlée.
To my delight, the combination was amazing! Delicious! For those of you who missed
the dinner I can only say missed out on this one.
I came for the meal. But I stayed for the dessert.
Of course that whole Toastmaster part in the middle was decent too. ;)

Club Awards
Awards Ceremony
It was a nice reminder that your Janice was too modest to hand out the award to herself so she got Michelle to do the honours. Awards
SuccessIt was good to share in the success of fellow club members.
For those of you who hit the six speech mark, congratuations! |

Guest Speaker: Renate Zorn
Who's Renate? She is an accomplished speaker and fellow Toastmaster! Issue #IX of the Division P Newsletter mentions her grabbing third place in the International Speech contest.
Fred, our VP of Membership, reminded me that Renate was one of the speakers at the
officer training we attended soon after joining the club's executive team.
Wow, brings back memories.
Renate reminded us that you only get out of Toastmasters what you put into it.
Renate, thank you for sharing in our club's 25th Anniversary celibration!
