Contest Results!

There were seven excellent contestants in the Division Q Table Topics contest representing their area. James represented our club as the Area 9 winner. James battled it out and landed on the podium in third place. Congratulations James!

The funniest part was at the winners podium. The second place table topics winner quietly said to me 'We'll meet again'. Just for a second it was as if we were ancient gladiators. I could almost sense that he meant to say "We'll meet again in battle!". Of course that could just have been my imagination. In either case, I certainly look forward to a rematch.

It was nice to have a few friendly faces in the audience. It was a great experience and I have been inspired to continue work on my skills. "

Phoenix Toronto Toastmasters Acquires Mystery Prize

The mystery prize? It's all thanks to Brian. As our Sargeant at Arms he carried our club banner to the contest. Legend has it that he had to walk 30 kilometers through arctic snow with the banner strapped to his back. Thanks to his dedication our club's banner flew proudly for all to see.

Since we had our banner on display our club was eligible for a draw. As luck would have it we won one of the prizes. This top secret prize will be given out at a future date.

You should have been there...

As a bonus we also got to listen to excellent seven humourous speeches. Well worth the price of admission. I think Brian said it best when he said "coming to these events really inspires you."
