Toastmasters 2008/2009 Club Elections

Etobicoke's Finest Candidates

As many of you already know, we held our annual elections this week. I was especially impressed by how many new candidates stepped up to the plate. This year we had enough candidates to easily run two successful clubs. This is a sign that our club will be successful not only for this year but years to come. I'd like to thank all the candidates for accepting a nomination this year (in alphabetical order), and encourage you to consider running next year. There may even be an opportunity to assist an executive member this year, which will provide excellent training for upcoming years.

Thank you candidates:

  • Rushd A.
  • James B.
  • David B.
  • Althea F.
  • Mike G.
  • Luchian H.
  • Graham H.
  • Irene K.
  • Bill L.
  • Dan M.
  • Ranjani M.
  • Jennifer N.
  • Mary P
  • Elena R.
  • Priti R.
  • Frank S.

A message from our past president Lidia S.

Congratulations to you all! This excellent combination of experience and fresh ideas and enthusiasm will ensure that 2008-2009 with be another fantastic year. I look forward to working with you and watching the changes and growth that the club will go through.

As representatives of our members and our club, it is necessary for you to attend one of the training sessions that will be offered by our District. Information about upcoming sessions is available at: www.toastmasters60.org/calendar/training.htm

More sessions will be added and these will be posted on the above website. However, we do encourage members to be trained sooner rather than later. This will help to better prepare you for your role and allow you to meet others who have performed the role in the past or are just starting out.

Best wishes.

Lidia S.
