Spring 2009 Club Contests

Toronto Toastmasters Spring Contests will take place on February 10, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre. Location will be confirmed closer to the date of the contest. .

International Speech Contest

To be eligible to compete at any level of the International Speech Contest, individual must have completed at least 6 speeches in the Competent Communication manual prior to the club contest.

5 to 7 minutes. Any topic at all, as long as it's original. The reason this contest is called "International Speech" because it's the only one of the five contests that goes as far as the World level.

A winner will represent our club in the area contest.

Evaluation Contest

All toastmasters who are members of our club are eligible to compete in this contest.

2 to 3 minutes. A target speaker gives a speech which all the evaluation contestants are to evaluate.

A winner will represent our club in the area contest.

Irene K. - Toastmaster of the Year 2008-2009 You've done it again Irene!

Irene Kaye was awarded the Outstanding Toastmaster Award for Phoenix Toronto Toastmasters.

Our congratulations and thanks to Irene!

"Outstanding Toastmaster" ("Toastmaster of the Year") is an award which recognizes one member whose educational accomplishments, club service, dedication and enthusiasm are exceptional.

A point system is used to rate member's contribution, activities and achievements. Attendance, Club Officer service, educational awards, meeting awards such as Best Table Topics and Best Evaluator, participation in contests are considered factors when determining a winner.
